A clean, lubricated chain delivers power smoothly and extends the life of the sprockets.

Key Points

  • Put the bike on its stand, spray the chain cleaner, and brush gently while turning the wheel.
  • Wipe the chain dry with a clean cloth so no oily grime is left behind.
  • Spray lubricant on the inside of the chain while turning the wheel, then let it soak in for a few minutes.
  • Wipe off the excess lubricant so it is not flung onto the rim and tyre.

Repeat every few hundred kilometres, or more often after riding in the rain.
